Writs In India

A writ is an order issued by an authority. Writs in India are directions from higher courts to lower courts, authorities or organizations. Writs in Indian Constitution are vested under article 32 for Supreme Court and under article 226 for the High courts. Basically art. 32 and art. 226 are constitutional remedies. In case a person’s fundamental rights are violated he or she can move to the Supreme Court and the High courts under these articles respectively.
