Fats & Fatty Acids. Fats produce fatty acids in the body. fatty acids are carboxylic acids with a long carbon chain

There are three forms of fat

  • Saturated Fats
  • Monounsaturated Fats
  • Polyunsaturated Fats

All fatty acids fall into two categories saturated and unsaturated, unsaturated fatty acids like olive oil are more healthy fats than saturated fatty acids such as butter.

About 30% of the portion of our total calories should be from Fats, mainly unsaturated.
